Waterford Flight
After a couple of days of travel we have arrived at Waterford on the Hudson River, at the end of the Erie Canal. Almost 350 miles, 35 locks and a 570’ change in altitude.
The last 5 locks drop 169’ into the Hudson river valley, they are close together and claim to create the steepest canal in North America.
This is the boy’s last week of summer holidays, Tuesday SCHOOL starts. Janine and I put on our teacher hats and try our hand at elementary school. Are we smarter than a six grader?!?
